Amman: King Abdullah II of Jordan said on Wednesday that the Arab kingdom supports efforts by US to resume Palestinian-Israeli peace talks. Jordan will continue to support the US efforts to make progress in peace talks, reported a Chinese state run news agency citing King Abdullah during a meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry.

The Jordanian leader also said that the sole way to preserve peace and stability in the region is through creating an independent Palestinian state in accordance to the 1967 borders.

He warned that Israel's repeated violations against Al Aqsa Mosque and its unilateral measures in Jerusalem undermine peacemaking efforts.

Also, the Jordanian leader urged the international community's support to Jordan, which hosts more than half a million Syrian refugees.
