Ranchi (JPN/Bureau): It has been a good start for Saurabh Tiwary as he was the most expensive player bought by Bokaro Bulls during an auction for Jharkhand Premier League (JPL).

Bokaro Bulls bought Saurabh Tiwary for a whopping Rs 5.69 lakh, the largest bid amount in JPL yet. Players went under hammer on Sunday for the league which is being jointly organised by Jharkhand State Cricket Association and Elite Sports Management.

Apart from Tiwary, Ishank Jaggi, Shahbaz Nadeem, Mihir Diwakar and Rajiv Kumar Raja were sold at Rs 5 lakh each.

A total of 100 players were auctioned out of 150.

The eight day Jharkhand Premier League will start from March 12.

The franchises bidding for five teams were Ranchi Rangers, Bokaro Bulls, SinghbhumShers, Dhanbad Diamond and Jamshedpur Jaanbaaz.
