TRS bagged 63 out of the 119 seats in Telangana and Rao has been elected as Leader of the TRS Legislature Party

Rao’s swearing-in ceremony would be held at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad on June 2 at 8.15 AM, a Raj Bhavan press communique said.
"Congratulating Sri K Chandrasekhar Rao, on his election as the Leader, the Hon'ble Governor has sent him an invitation to form the government. The Hon'ble President of India is being addressed separately for revocation of the Presidential proclamation," the press communique said.
June two is the 'Appointed Day' when Telangana and (new) Andhra Pradesh would come into existence as separate states.
Narasimhan on Wednesday was given additional charge of the proposed state of Telangana.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique on Wednesday said the President has appointed Narasimhan to discharge the functions of the Governor of Telangana, in addition to his present duties as Andhra Pradesh Governor until a permanent arrangement is made.
