Patiala: With Kabaddi World Cup marred by several cases of doping, the entire team of a player found guilty of the unlawful activity would be penalised. The penalty would also be enforced on guilty players as there would be deductions in the prize money handed over to them.

Punjab sports director Pargat Singh said, the prize money will be given to the winners and the runner-up of the Kabaddi World Cup only after the final reports of dope tests arrive.

42 players including an Indian were found positive in the dope test before Kabaddi WC semifinals. As per the decision, the team whose six or less players have flunked dope test will be penalised by deducting 5 percent amount of the prize money.

Whereas, the team which has seven or more guilty will be charged 15 percent of the winning total.

During the event, eight players from England, seven from Spain, six each from Australia and Canada, five each from Italy and America, two from Norway and one each from India, Germany, and Argentina were found positive. All these tainted players were suspended during the event.

Meanwhile, the reports of 18 dope samples collected during the semifinals are yet to arrive.
