"It's heartening to see so many people offering help to those affected by the #NepalEarthquake In trying times humanity is what unites us," Kajol tweeted on Thursday.

The Himalayan nation was jolted by a devastating 7.9-magnitude earthquake on April 25, which not only reduced the region to rubble but has caused massive loss of lives.

The deaths have risen to  5,496, while 10,400 injured people are being treated in various hospitals across the nation.  

The actress also expressed grief over the natural calamity and prayed for a better future for Nepal.
"My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by the #NepalEarthquake Stay strong, Nepal. My prayers are with you," she  shared.
