New Delhi, Jan 18 (Agencies): Over four decades after it created melodious magic, 'Kajra Mohabbatwala', the cult hit from 1968 film 'Kismet' will come alive again in the forthcoming movie 'Tanu Weds Manu' which releases on February 25.

The original song which was picturised on yesteryear actors Babita and Biswajeet will now be recreated on screen with Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut playing the male lead.

The song, sung by Shamsad Begum and Asha Bhonsale, is used in its original form without any modifications.

The makers, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, have acquired the rights from HMV.

"Yes we have acquired the rights of the song 'Kajra Mohabbatwala.' It is one of my favourite sequences from the film, and Kangana has done a great job in it. The song is iconic and we are very excited to have the original version in 'Tanu Weds Manu.'

"The song is perfect for the essence of the film. If I had to tell you what 'Tanu.....' is, this song would encapsulate this perfectly. The energy of the song, the way the woman teases the male is 'Tanu Weds Manu'," said Anand Rai, the director of the film.
