Lucknow: Ruling out any possibility of comeback in the Bharatiya Janata Party, leader of Jan Kranti Party and the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh said that he turned down invitations from the BJP to rejoin the party.

Singh said the invitations to rejoin the BJP were sent separately by BJP president of Uttar Pradesh Surya Pratap Shahi, in-charge of election management Sanjay Joshi and Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Singh said his only aim is to strengthen the Jan Kranti Party and he is not thinking even to co-ordinate with the BJP.

Earlier, Shahi denied that BJP ever tried to persuade the former Chief Minister to rejoin the party but Kalyan Singh in the Thursday meeting exposed the secret behind Shahi’s visit to him some days back.

Lashing out at the BJP for its stand on the issue of corruption, Singh made sharp comments on some BJP members.

Speaking about the former BJP state unit chief Kalraj Mishra, he said, “Kalraj Mishra is not lagging behind in corruption. I remember that during my Chief Minister’s tenure Kalraj cried bitterly while clearing his stand regarding the corruption charges leveled against him.”

Kalyan Singh also lashed Rajnath Singh saying that he has dented the image of BJP.

Commenting on the proposed rath yatra by BJP leader L K Advani, Singh said, “The BJP has no right to speak on the issue of corruption as the party itself is involved in corruption.”
