New Delhi: After the successful trifurcation of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath on Friday indicated restructuring of Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

The minister’s assertion came after Delhi Chief Minister along with her Cabinet colleagues and MLAs met him to convey their gratitude over putting a stay order on sealing and demolition of a large number of unauthorised structures in the city.

It is worth mentioning that after getting control over the MCD following its trifurcation, the state government is now mulling to split the DDA.

DDA currently functions under administrative control of the Ministry of Urban Development. In such a condition taking important decisions becomes a tedious job for the state government.

Admitting the need of bringing the DDA under the state ruling dispensation, a state government official said, “The splitting of the DDA is significant from the perspective of development of the national capital. If it happens, development work would be expedited.”
