In the application filed before the family court, the actress stated she was withdrawing her consent since her husband had allegedly failed to comply with the financial commitments mentioned in the consent terms signed by the couple.

Karisma's lawyer, Kranti Sathe said, "The petition did not formalise yesterday. We have filed an application to withdraw consent from the petition. Our stand is that there is no compliance from his (Sunjay's) side and therefore we want to withdraw. The court has asked both parties to be present on tomorrow."

As per the court's orders, Kapur was supposed to meet certain financial commitments within a period of six months from the time of signing the consent papers. However, he allegedly took no initiative from his end.

Yesterday, Sathe said, "Kapur just has two more days to comply with the signed norms. Till date, he has not initiated the process; neither did he approach the court to seek an extension, nor was he present during the proceedings today. Hence, we have decided to withdraw our consent."

The court will decide on Karisma's application tomorrow. Meanwhile, when this paper contacted Sunjay's lawyer Narayan Suvarna, he said, "Even we have filed an application to withdraw consent from the petition on the same ground — that there is no compliance from her (Karisma's) side." The couple got married in 2003 and have two children, daughter Samaira and son Kiaan Raj.
