New Delhi: With the aim of bringing the judicial system in the nation at par with the judiciary in developed countries, the government is contemplating to initiate the upgradation program in the national capital. The Karkardooma court in Delhi will be the first court to undergo the changes.

In the elementary stage the foreign-tech features will be installed in the Karkardooma court and after getting a positive feedback the plan will be further implemented in other district courts in Delhi.

Shahdara Bar Association President Mukesh Bansal said, “The Karkardooma court will be the country’s first model court. It will be upgraded by 2015.”

Several other aspects of the legal system are being assessed under the modernisation project of the court.

Under the proposed plan every room inside the Karkardooma court premises will have space for witnesses. These rooms aim at providing protection and simultaneously helping the witnesses in getting respite from stress. The witnesses will be kept under strict security system. Newspapers and magazines will be provided to them.

In a bid to minimise the rush of cases to be heard on daily basis in the court, the docket system will be adopted. This system has been taken from German legal system. This will keep a tab on the number of cases to be heard in the court on daily basis.

The inflow of public in the court will be restricted under the plan. Entry inside the premises of the court will be allowed through passes. The pass system is likely to be started from the last week of January.
