New Delhi: A day after two BJP MLAs filed a petition seeking disqualification of 12 legislators loyal to Lingayat strongman BS Yeddyurappa, Karnataka Speaker KG Bopaiah is likely to meet the rebel assembly members.

BJP MLAs Belur Gopalakrishna and MV Nagaraju claimed that they had submitted documentary evidence to the Speaker "on the anti-party activities of the 12 MLAs during the last two to three months and sought their disqualification".
A delegation of thirteen MLAs on last Wednesday called on Speaker K G Bopaiah to submit their resignation from Assembly membership.
As Bopaiah was not present, they had later submitted copies of their resignation letters to Governor H R Bhardwaj.
In the 225-member Karnataka Assembly House, BJP has strength of 117 excluding the Speaker and requires 113 for a simple majority. Congress has 71 members and JDS 26. There are seven independents and two seats are lying vacant. Karnataka Assembly has one nominated member.
