New Delhi: Karthik Chidambaram, son of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has taken the Twitter route to take on the BJP leaders who have targeted Chidambaram for his ministry’s goof-up in preparing the ‘most wanted fugitives’ list that was handed over to Pakistan.

Even as Chidambaram admitted that the inclusion of Wazhul Kamar Khan's name in the list of 50 ‘most wanted’ was a genuine mistake, the Opposition has been lashing out at the Home Minister, both in public and on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

The blunder has led to a war of words between Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and Chidambaram's son and Congress leader Kartik Chidambaram on the social networking site.

The exchange of words began when Swaraj first put P Chidambaram in dock by tweeting, "The inclusion of the name of Wazhul Khan in India's most wanted list submitted to Pakistan is an unpardonable mistake. The Home minister has embarrassed the country”.

In his father’s defence, Karthik accused LK Advani for Kandhar tragedy. Replying to Sushma’s tweet he said, “An error of compilation perhaps. But nothing compared to the attack on Parliament and Kandahar under Sushmaji's mentor's watch”.

Karthik bluntly said that the mistake committed by his father stands nowhere in comparison to the Parliament attack which happened during LK Advai’s tenure as Home Minister.

Karthik also fired a salvo against Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley by tweeting that any Home Minister’s performance is reviewed by his decisions on the national security in the country during his entire tenure and not with a single incident.
