New Delhi: While the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has chargesheeted former Chief Minister Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi in the 2G spectrum case, the investigating agency is likely to give a clean chit to the DMK supremo’s second wife Rajathi.  Earlier, the DMK leader’s first wife Dayalu had also been given a clean chit.

According to CBI officials, “There has been no evidence against DMK leader’s second wife Rajathi in the purchase of land associated with Tata Group’s company Voltas.”

According to the agency, a property related to Voltas was purchased by Shanamgunathan who is believed to be a close aide of Rajathi. The allegation that the property worth Rs 100 crore was sold for Rs 25 crore by Tata Group, was considered as a bribe to Karunanidhi family, was labelled baseless by the CBI after investigation.

Earlier, the CBI had given a clean chit to Karunanidhi’s first wife Dayalu who holds the post of Director and 60 per cent share in Kalaignar TV. CBI spared her because she does not know any language other than Tamil.
