New Delhi: With several political and corporate bigwigs already behind the bars in connection with 2G spectrum scam, the next in line to be arrested could be DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi's wife Dayalu Ammal and his daughter Kanimozhi.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is all set to file its first supplementary chargesheet on Monday (April 25) in connection with Rs 214 crore transaction involving Kalaignar TV and the alleged payoff routed through DB Realty. Dayalu and Kanimozhi together have 80 percent holding in Kalaignar TV.

Shahid Balwa’s brother Asif Balwa and Rajiv Agrawal of Kusegaon Realty are already behind the  bars for allegedly routing money to Kalaignar TV through Cineyug Films. Both of them are now in judicial custody despite the fact that they were not named in the first chargesheet.

An official closely related with the case said that apart from Asif Balwa and Rajiv Agrawal, the supplementary chargesheet would include the names of Dayalu, Kanimozhi and Kalaignar TV managing director Sharad Kumar.

Once named in the chargesheet, all three of them would have to seek a regular bail. However, Patiala House court by rejecting the bail of Vinod Goenka and other senior executives of ADAG on Wednesday gave enough hints of judiciary acting tough against the accused in the case.

It should be noted that all those who are likely to be named in the supplementary chargesheet would have to file their bail plea in the same Patiala House Court. If the court rejects their bail plea, they would be left with no other option than spending few days in the uncomfortable cells of Tihar.
