New Delhi: India's Karunuday Singh clinched his maiden ITF men's singles title with a 6-4, 6-2 win over compatriot Vijayant Malik in the USD 10,000 tournament at the DLTA complex here on Saturday.

The eighth-seeded Karunuday, who also won his maiden doubles title with his Russian partner Vitali Reshetnikov on Friday, dominated from the word go - serving big and hitting powerful groundstrokes.

He never allowed the seventh-seeded Malik to settle down in a contest that lasted an hour and 17 minutes.

Malik, on his part, committed five double faults, four of which came in the first set.

After bagging the opening set, Karunuday carried the momentum into the second set as well and broke Malik in the first and seventh games to serve out the set and the match.
