Mumbai (Jagran News Network): The Bombay High Court will pronounce the verdict on confirmation of Ajmal Kasab's death sentence on February 21. A special court had granted the death sentence to Pakistani terrorist Kasab for his role in 26/11 terror attacks.

Speaking to the reporters, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjal Nikam said, “The court will announce its decision via video link on February 21.”

Kasab will not be produced in court due to security reasons, said Nikam.

“Now, it is to see what decision the court will take regarding Kasab’s and co-accused Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed in the same case,” he added.

“The court is still compiling documents and needs more time to announce the judgment,” pointed out Nikam.

Ajmal Kasab had challeneged the special court's decision in the Bombay High Court.

On January 7, arguments concluded in the case following which Justices Ranjana Desai and RV More reserved order and kept the matter for directions on February 7.

Arguments on these matters began on October 17 last and were heard on a day-to-day basis by the court except for brief periods during Diwali and Christmas holidays.
For the first time, a video conference link was put up in the Court for hearing appeals. Cameras were installed in court room no 49 to enable Kasab hear proceedings from jail.
