New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the Tihar jail authorities to table the medical records of Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav that how many times they have visited AIIMS and private hospitals since their arrest. Both are serving life term imprisonment in connection with Nitish Katara murder case.

A bench of Justices Gita Mittal and V K Shali posted the matter for hearing on Thursday.

The court has asked the concerned Tihar Jail and AIIMS authorities to produce the medical records of past two-years.

The court's order came on the petition of Nilam Katara, mother of Nitish, seeking a direction to the jail authorities and AIIMS to produce entire record relating to the ailments of accused and their visits to AIIMS.

Apart from this, the court has also sought for the medical records of ailing Tihar prisoners visit’s to AIIMS and other hospitals.

Earlier in 2008, a lower court had awarded life imprisonment to Vikas and Vishal for their role in Nitish Katara murder case.

While the Delhi High Court in 2004 had allowed Vishal to visit Batra Hospital for tuberculosis treatment, Vivek was admitted in AIIMS several times to avoid the proceedings.

The lower court has also awarded similar punishment to third accused Sukhdev Pehalwan.

The petitioner had said that they visited hospitals 87 times by misusing their financial and political clout.
