New Delhi: Sushil Kumar, who has had a phoenix rise by creating history with hitting the jackpot of Rs 5 crore in ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, will now be seen endorsing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS).

Sushil, a resident of Motihari, Bihar, worked as computer operator under MNREGS in the district. Considering his association with the scheme, the Ministry of Rural Development has decided to make him a brand ambassador of MNREGS.

Congratulating Sushil for achieving this feat, Union Minister of Rural Development Jiaram Ramesh on Saturday sent a congratulatory letter along with the proposal of making him ambassador for one of the promising schemes of the Centre to generate employment for the rural population.

Jairam Ramesh in his letter appreciated Kumar for his hard work and courage in achieving the success and popularity. Talking about his job as computer operator, the Minister called him as the member of MNREGS family and lauded him for his courage and struggle for his journey from a remote village to a glittering game show.
