New Delhi: The achievement of Sushil Kumar, who is the Rs 5-crore winner of much talked Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), has hogged the attention of international media as well as they hail him as Slumdog Millionaire.

Coming from Motihari district of Bihar, Kumar’s achievement is much hyped in newspapers in Britain, Australia, Canada and America.

Some have written him as a Slumdog Millionaire, while others portrayed him as a poor clerk from a village who achieved the zenith.

A few news dailies have published his photograph with Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire’s protagonist Dev Patel.

The episode of winning Rs 5 crore will be telecast on November 2. However, the Rs 5-crore question posed to Kumar during the game show has not been revealed but grapevine suggests it is related to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

He took two lifelines-phone a friend and double dip- to answer the question.

Kumar, after a decade of efforts, gained entry in the KBC-season 5. After tax deductions, Kumar will take home Rs 3.50 crore.

While speaking with his relatives on phone, Kumar said the biggest dream of his life came true and now he can appear for civil services examination.

He did not have any television set and used to go to his aunt’s house to watch the show.

Earning only Rs 6, 000 as salary, Kumar said he wished to win Rs 25 or 50 lakh and never thought of winning Rs 5 crore. Presently, Kumar is with his wife in Mumbai.
