New Delhi: Replying to the defamation notice served on him by Union Minister for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Virbhadra Singh over allegedly listing the latter among tainted ministers of UPA Government, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday asked Singh to emulate the probity of his colleague AK Antony and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

“A question always arises in my mind that leaders like Antony and Nitish Kumar despite holding the top post have clean image and there’s no allegation of corruption charges leveled against them. But on you (Virbhadra) heaps of accusations have been made with evidences which at first sight seem serious.” Kejriwal states in his reply to Singh.

Kejriwal also enclosed with his letter a copy of a CD allegedly containing the voice of the Virbhadra and his wife about illegal money deals with an IAS officer being talked about.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar came under severe criticism from Team Anna when the latter termed the Bihar Lokayukta Bill as “weak”. Later on, Nitish hit back at Team Anna warning it to be within the limits; hence Kejriwal’s U-turn is surprising.

Kejriwal in his letter to Virbhadra Singh added that he is not going to stop his agitation against corruption bowing to the pressure of some legal threats.

He asked Singh if “all corruption charges leveled against you like land usurpation, illegal recruitment in government jobs, illegal cutting of trees” are baseless, saying making corruption charges public is not defamatory act.
