Scores of persons gathered at the banks of Ganga while the former Delhi chief minister sought blessings ahead of the referendum on his candidature.  Keeping with the city’s high regard for Lord Shiva, AAP members kept on chanting ‘Har Har Mahadev’ slogans.

Polling in Varanasi will take place on May 12. Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency has five assembly segments of which three are urban- Varanasi North, Varanasi South and Varanasi Cantonment- while the other two Sevapuri and Rohaniya are rural.

Kejriwal is expected to develop his campaign focusing on problems of river pollution, lack of development and the poor condition of weavers, mostly from the minority community.
