"It is not a good sign for a Chief Minister. Instead of taking up his responsibility, indulging in these kinds of protests are only a 'publicity stunt’. The public will not benefit from it. It is setting a wrong precedent," he said.

Asked about the Tamil Nadu fishermen's issue, Vasan said that the January 27 talks here between representatives of fishermen's associations of the state and Sri Lanka would be successful.

"I hope an amicable solution will be taken in the meeting. We wish that the meeting is successful. I have already stated that it should not be politicized," he said.
