There are also reports that Kejriwal, who will be leaving for Varanasi on Monday evening by train, has planned an attack on himself to blame BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi just like the ‘arrest drama’ that took place during his visit to Gujarat earlier this month.

“BJP planning something? Everyone suspects there will be violence by Arvind Kejriwal in Varanasi,” he wrote on microblogging site twitter.

It is also expected that Kejriwal, who had defeated chief minister Sheila Dikshit in last year’s assembly polls in Delhi, may announce to contest from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, the constituency from where the BJP has fielded its prime ministerial candidate.

“We have to defeat the BJP’s Narendra Modi. I will go to Varanasi. We will have a rally in Varanasi. Whatever the people of Varanasi will say, that will be final. If the people of Varanasi decide to give me this responsibility, I will accept it wholeheartedly,” Kejriwal had said last week.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Singh, who is camping in the city for the past two weeks, said that more than 5,000 volunteers from across the state had reached Varanasi by Sunday evening. Singh claimed that over one lakh people would be attending the rally.

Besides, 'Chalo Benaras' hashtag created by volunteers is also trending on Twitter.

Voting will take place in Varanasi on May 12.
