"We have 365 days' availability of medical and health services. Why cannot this happen in our field," Chief Justice of India RM Lodha asked addressing the legal fraternity after laying the foundation of Bar Council building in Jodhpur on May 11.

Following this, Bar Council of India had sought opinion of all bar associations throughout the country to inform their views.

The advocates association on Thursday in an extraordinary general body meeting discussed the issue and with a thumping majority the proposal was rejected by the members.

According to the Bar Council proposal, courts have to work throughout the year and judges can take vacations according to their wishes.

The advocates strongly protested the move and the General body appointed association president SP Chaly to express its views in the nationwide meeting at New Delhi on June 4.
