Thiruvananthapuram (Agencies): The Kerala government on Monday said it has provided all facilities for treating patients at the Malabar Cancer Centre at Thalassery.

Another centre for cancer treatment would come up at Mavoor in Kozhikode, Health Minister PK Sreemathi said, replying to questions in the Assembly.

She said medical colleges in the state presently did not have scarcity of doctors. The department proposed to send technicians abroad for special training as new equipment had been installed in medical college hospitals, especially at Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital.

The CT and MRI scan facilities in all medical colleges were working round the clock, she said.

The Minister said the Medical Council of India had already approved the boosting of 150 medical seats in Thrissur and Alappuzha medical colleges.
