Ahmedabad: Former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel’s Gujarat Partivartan Party (GPP) is giving sleepless night to the seven ministers of Narendra Modi government in Saurashtra region in the assembly elections.

Saurasthra is considered to be the political fiefdom of the octogenarian leader who formed Gujarat Partivartan Party (GPP) after split with the Bharatiya Janata party in August.
In a changed political scenario in Saurashtra region, several senior BJP and Congress leaders are pitted against one another. BJP ministers Vahu Ben Trivedi, Mohan Kondariya, Kirit Singh Rana and Dilip Sangari are facing tough fight in their respective constituencies.

Congress rebel Poonam Maadam, who managed BJP ticket, is facing political backlift from her own uncle and Congress MP, Vikram Maadam. Senior NCP leader Bhura Manjula resigned from party after God Mother Shanto ben’s son and his nephew was given ticket for the forthcoming election.

Congress MP Vitthal Radaria is contesting from Dharojee seat, while his son is trying his luck from Jaitpur assembly seat. Jashubhai Barar and Jawahar Chawra are striving hard to represent from Talala and Marawadar constituency respectively.
