Khagaria (Bihar): The Bihar police on Friday arrested two naxalites of Sonbarsa block of Saharsa district in a search operation at Morkahi village of Alauli police station.

Khagaria Superintendent of Police SP Mithu Prasad told reporters the police pickets of Alauli, Morkahi, Amausi and Moharaghat had been alerted after a firing broke between a naxalite group and criminals.

He said the police got a tip off that some naxals had to visit Bachauta village of Khagaria to purchase weapons. A police team headed by Alauli police station in charge Manoranjan Singh nabbed Bijli Sada and Ramsakal Sada with country made weapons near Morkahi village.
