Hazaribagh (Jharkhand): In a major development, the family of abducted Akashwani engineer Rajkumar Sharma received ransom call of Rs 50 lakh here on Saturday afternoon.

Sharma went missing on September 29 from the Koderma railway station.

“Sharma’s family received two calls from the abductors for ransom on October 1 afternoon. Raising a demand of Rs 50 lakh for his release, the abductors threatened the family to not approach us,” a police official said.

The Hazaribagh and Koderma police is jointly performing the search operations.

Meanwhile, the family of the kidnapped engineer is in extreme shock.

“Papa we are missing you. Where are you? Come back soon,” remarked Sharma’s 6-year-old daughter Aayati and son Aryan.

2 RJD leaders go missing in Latehar

In a similar event two Rastriya Janata Dal leaders were kidnapped by unknown miscreants in the Latehar district of Jharkhand in the wee hours of Saturday on their way to home.

RJD leaders Shravan Yadav and Vinod Sahu were abducted by unknown miscreants when both were going to Sahu’s ancestral Balu village on Saturday evening. Both the leaders work as contractors in the village.
