Melbourne, Jan 29 (Jagran News Network): Belgian Kim Clijsters beat China's Li Na 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to win her maiden Australian Open and her fourth grand slam title on Saturday.

The three-times US Open champion's victory ended Li's hopes of becoming the first Chinese and first Asian grand slam singles champion.

Li lost to Clijsters after beginning on a good note in a match that saw her lose cool over Chinese spectators licking her pictures.

Victory at the Australian Open was important for Clijsters as she had earlier announced 2011 could be her last full year on the tour.
