The company, which is part of Pune-based Kinetic Group, has already bagged an order worth Rs 400 crore from the UP government for supply of 27,000 units of 'Kinetic Safar'.

"The launch of e-three wheeler Kinetic Safar is a sincere effort to provide pollution free yet affordable mode of public transport in the country," Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO, Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions, told reporters here.

The company is focusing on bringing green technologies to masses, she added.

The vehicle, which can go for 115 kms on a single charge, is being manufactured by the company at its Ahmednagar-based facility which has an installed production capacity of 4,000 units per month.

Kinetic Safar has been approved by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and meets all government safety norms. The vehicle, which comes with all steel body, has maximum speed of 25 kms per hour and can carry four passengers plus the driver.

"Besides, Safar also comes with unique gearbox that enables it to climb flyovers as well," Motwani said.

For Safar, the company has tied up with battery manufacturer Exide.
