While noted Gandhian Anna Hazare outrigthly rejected the new draft of the Lokpal Bill terming it ‘useless’, former IPS officer and his close aid, Kiran Bedi, supported the government's draft saying that most of the concerned issues were addressed. She also added that there is still some hope for improvement in it.
Talking exclusively to Jagran Post, Kiran Bedi said, “This is what that have been extracted from politicians after continued struggle of many years and most of the concerns have been addressed in the amended Lokpal bill but the movement will continue as there is still many hopes of improving it.”

“A strong Lokpal would have meant bringing the entire CBI under the ambit of Lokpal institution,” she added.

Kiran Bedi’s support to the new draft of Lokpal Bill holds significance given the stance of anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare who on Thursday had rejected the bill.

Anna Hazare, while talking to reporters in Bihar during his Jantantra rally said, "The proposed new draft of the Lokpal Bill is a farce. We will continue our fight for the Jan Lokpal Bill and force the government to pass it."
