In a message, Reddy hoped that 2014 will bring peace, joy and cheer to the people and progress to Andhra Pradesh in all sectors.
    
"The state made rapid strides on the path of development in the last three years, particularly in 2013, despite a difficult situation prevailing in the state (due to the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh)," he said.
    
He said that it is a matter of pride that Andhra Pradesh bagged the award for the ‘best performing state in governance’ at an event in the national capital.
    
As per customary practice, the Andhra Pradesh Governor would be available to exchange pleasantries with the public and leaders of civil society at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, an official release said in Hyderabad.
    
Union Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi and YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy have also conveyed greetings to the people on the occasion of New Year.

In an official communique Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan has wished that the New Year brings cheer, health, success and prosperity on all fronts to every citizen in Andhra Pradesh.
    
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu and state BJP president G Kishan Reddy have also conveyed their greetings to the people on the occasion of New Year.
