Hyderabad: An all around show by Gauti and company propelled Knight Riders to register a comfortable win by 20 runs over sloppy Deccan Chargers in their IPL match here on Tuesday.

VIEW SCORECARD: Kolkata Knight Riders VS Deccan Chargers

After Iqbal Abdulla, it’s Rajan Bhatia who joined the party and gave two more successes to Knight Riders in the form of Cameron White (13) and Daniel Christian (1).

Iqbal Abdulla gave two back to back successes to Knight Riders as he scalped the man in form Sunny Sohal (26) and the skipper Kumar Sangakkara for ‘duck’.  The on-song left arm spinner took both the crucial wickets on his flighted balls.

A healthy partnership between skipper Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis and an unbeaten scintillating knock of 47 runs off 26 balls by dangerous Yusuf Pathan propelled Knight Riders to set a gigantic target of 170 runs before Deccan Chargers.

After three early jolts, devastating duo Manoj Tiwary and Yusuf Pathan muscled Knight Riders as they took the teams score to post 150 runs mark in 18 overs.

Amit Mishra’s ‘googly’ confused Jacques Kallis as he tried to loft but couldn’t connect the distance and gave an easy catch on the boundary line. Where skipper Gautam Gambhir bamboozled on Ojha’s witty quick spun.

Eoin Morgan became the first victim for Deccan Chargers as Daniel Christian blew his middle stump in the air.

Deccan Chargers skipper Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and opted to field against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League T-20 match in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Kumar Sangakkara’s Deccan Chargers are all set to take on dominating Gautam Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL match in Hyderabad.

Struggling Deccan have played eight matches so far and managed to win only three of them. The roller-coaster campaign puts them in the lower half of the points table with six points.

On the other hand, Kolkata have 10 points and are second in the overall standings, having won five out of eight matches they have played so far.

But the task is not easy as Kumar Sangakkara's men go into Tuesday's match after a 19-run loss to Chennai Super Kings on Sunday night.

The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Sunny Sohal, Bharat Chipli and Sangakkara himself have not done enough to intimidate rival bowlers. The quartet will have to rediscover its form for Deccan to have any chance of going further in the tournament.

On the bowling front, hosts would look up to Ishant Sharma, who has shown glimpses of good form after being off-colour for most part of the event, and Dale Steyn in the pace department.

Pragyan Ojha and Amit Mishra will be spearheading the spin attack.

The high-profile line-up of batsmen led by Gautam Gambhir, includes all-rounder Jacques Kallis, Yusuf Pathan and Manoj Tiwary, all of whom have been in decent touch.

The bowling too looks formidable with an in-form Brett Lee spearheading the pace attack rather well with Laxmipathy Balaji as an able support.

Coming off back-to-back wins, confidence is bound to be high in the Kolkata camp but playing at home would certainly work to Deccan's advantage in what promises to be an interesting contest.
