1. Cholamu Lake, Sikkim:

Cholamu Lake is situated in the Himalayan range at about 18,000 feet from the sea level. It is the highest fresh water lake in India. This lake is just 5-6 kms away from the Tibet border and special permit is required from Army and Sikkim police/administration to visit Cholamu lake. The reflection of mountains in water and flock of birds add beauty to this destination.

2. Gurudongmar Lake, Sikkim:

Gurudongmar Lake in Sikkim is located at an altitude of 17,800 feet. It is a lake which is considered sacred by both Buddhists and Sikhs. The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava, founder of Tibetan Buddhism who visited the lake in the 8th century. Surrounded by  Mount Siniolchu and Khanchendzonga, this beautiful lake remains milky in colour throughout the year.

3. Tsomoriri Lake, Ladakh:

This lake is located at a height of 4,552 metres in Ladakh region. This 7 km wide lake reflects multi-shade colours of the water, making the place romantic and beautiful.

4. Roopkund Lake, Uttarakhand:

It is a high altitude glacial lake located in Uttarakhand. Roopkund attracts attention because of the human skeletal remains that are visible at its bottom when the snow melts. Snow, forests and overwhelming campsites are the main highlights of this lake, making it lovable.

5. Pangong Lake, Ladakh:

Pangong Lake is situated about 160 km from Leh, Ladakh. It is famous for 7 different blue colours that can be visualized in the water at the same time from different angles. Different ranges of birds migrating from several countries as well as wide wildlife species can also be spotted in the region
