Kolkata: The Kolkata High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Victoria Memorial administration seeking a reply as to why the court’s orders issued in 2007 were not followed. Acting on a PIL filed by Subash Dutt the Court summoned the administration to make a list of all the artifacts present in the memorial and present it to the court.

Also, the court had asked the administration in 2007 to prepare grounds on which the areas around the memorial could be turned into a ‘green zone area’. The court also ordered to shut down the parking service in three kilometers span around the memorial.

Dutt while presenting his arguments before the bench of Justices Pinaki Chandra Bose and M K Chkarbarti said, “The Victoria Memorial administration have failed to comply with any of the orders issued by the court in the year 2007.”

The court has summoned the administration to file an affidavit in its response in four month’s time.
