Bangalore, Jan 10 (Agencies): The two-day BJP national executive in Guwahati did not discuss the political situation in Karnataka but instead appreciated the governance and development works in the state, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Monday.

"Top BJP leaders expressed appreciation over the governance in Karnataka and also the development works initiated by my government," he told reporters here.

The meeting also expressed happiness over BJP's performance in the just concluded zilla and taluk panchayat elections, he said.

The BJP won 12 zilla panchayats out of 30 and 68 taluk panchayats out of 176.

There was speculation that the Karnataka issue might come up for debate at the national executive against the backdrop of corruption charges and land scams faced by the Yeddyurappa government.
