“Amethi is sick of actors and I don't care who the BJP or the Congress pitches against me. Rahul is a political actor, now one more actor has joined the fray," said Vishwas, who is contesting from Amethi on AAP ticket.

"I have been staying in Amethi and have spent 40 nights here....Amethi has already decided who they want," Vishwas added.

He also sympathized with Irani for being fielded against him and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, saying some leaders in the BJP are unfavorable towards her.

Meanwhile, Smriti Irani accused Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP of being hand-in-glove with the Congress.

“The fight in Amethi will be BJP vs Congress. The AAP is a B-team of the Congress,” she said.

The BJP last night fielded the actor-turned-politician against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.  The decision on Irani was taken at a meeting of the party's Central Election Committee in New Delhi.

Top BJP leaders Narendra Modi, Lal Krishna Advani, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley were present at the meeting.
