Bihar: Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi on Thursday approved the proposal of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav to provide the compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the victims of rail mishap in Nayagaon village, Chapra. Yadav further announced the compensation on behalf of the Railway Minister.

RJD chief while speaking in Lok Sabha on Thursday raised his demands for the compensation.

Yadav had frequently requested the State government and the Union government for the compensation to the Nayagaon rail victims. Moreover, he had personally met Trivedi over the issue.

After the approval of compensation from the Railway Ministry, Yadav has also requested the State government to release compensations for the kin of the victims.

Seven people were killed at railway crossing in the Nayagaon village in Chapra section of East Central Railway.
