Darbhanga: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad on Sunday attacked the Nitish Kumar government over arrest of some youths belonging to the minority community in Bihar by the law enforcing agencies of other states on terror charges and said the state government did not offer assistance to the families to fight for justice on behalf of their arrested kins.

"The law enforcement agencies of other states and the Central government have arrested a number of minority youths, particularly from Mithilanchal region, on fake terror charges in the past couple of years and the state government had done nothing more than merely lodge protest with other states," he said at a public meeting in Benipur locality in Bihar's Darbhanga district.

The state government has been so callous about the plight of the minority community youths that it came to know about the arrest of from media reports as its intelligence agencies were founding sleeping, Prasad said.

He also pooh-poohed claim of development work by Nitish Kumar during the NDA rule and said that whatever good works were done in Bihar were due to the largesses of the Central government of which his party was a constituent.

On Kumar's pet political agenda of special category status for Bihar, the RJD supremo warned the former against making it a partisan political issue and said that he and his party were prepared to join an agitation on the issue.

The RJD workers too will go to jail if the Chief Minister launched an agitation on the special status issue by soliciting support of all political parties, he said.
