Chiranjeev, a former state Youth Congress president and the son-in-law of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, said that he has been actively involved in the public campaigns in the constituency. He has been getting in touch with people, added Chiranjeev.

“I have been actively participating in political and social activities in this constituency for the last few years. I have developed a strong connection with the local people. Under the guidance of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, as a Haryana Youth Congress president I worked for strengthening the organization,” he said.

Chiranjeev was elected president of Youth Congress in year 2010 when Haryana Pradesh Youth Congress had conducted elections to select their office bearers for the first time.

Meanwhile, Sonepat MP Jitender Singh Malik announced that he will not contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and will fight the Haryana Assembly polls from Ganaur constituency.
