Greater Noida: The High Court decision regarding Noida Extension land row has prompted the farmers of other villages to file petitions challenging land acquisition by the Greater Noida Authority.

About 70 farmers of Murshadpur village have filed their pleas with the Allahabad High Court, which will hear the matter on August 17.

It is worth mentioning that the Greater Noida Authority had acquired the land in Murshadpur village by using urgency clause in 2004. Later in 2005, the farmers of the village have been provided compensation worth Rs 300 per yard.

The farmers said the Authority had acquired the land for setting up industries but later they were allocated to the builders on much higher rates.

Children of the farmers have become jobless after losing their valuable land. Annoyed over the issue 70 village residents prominently including Ratan Lal, Jaggu Pramukh, Gajab Pradhan, Vishambhar, Mahaveer, Sunday and Brijendra have knocked the court door for justice.
