Udhampur/Ramban: Six people including four women were killed on Saturday when a car rolled down near Khuni Nala on Jammu-Srinagar highway following a landslide.

While four people of a family died on spot, two succumbed to injuries at a Ramban hospital. Four injured women were referred to Government Medical College in Srinagar.

As per the information, the mishap took place around 6 am. All were travelling to Srinagar from Udhampur in the car (JK04-A8621).

Soon after the district administration learned about the incident, they rushed to the place along with the paramilitary force.

Deceased have been identified as Muhammad Madyakub (driver) son of Gulam Muhammad Sheikh, his wife Shamima Begum, daughter Kausar and Nilofer, Faizan son of Farooq Ahmed and Muskan daughter of Muhammad Ashraf. All injured have been identified as Ulfat daughter of Muhammad Madyakub, Fahmid wife of Farooq Ahmed, Nabla wife of Noor Muhammad and Parveen wife of Muhammad Shari.

Police informed that dead bodies have been sent to Srinagar for postmortem.
