Ferozpur/Amritsar:  In a letter to Attari Railway Station Superintendent, the commander of dreaded terror group Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Karim Ansari has threatened to blow up the Samjauta Express along with half a dozen railway stations on this Diwali.

On receiving the letter on Sunday, the Station Superintendent immediately informed the Railway Protection Force and his seniors. Taking the serious note of the letter, the Railway authorities have increased the security at the stations.

The letter by LeT threatens to blow up Samjautha express and railway stations namely Attari, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Bathinda and Mansa on Diwali.

Alok Kumar, RPF Commandant said, “Taking the serious note of it, we have informed DRM Biswesh Choubey and senior officers of Delhi headquarters.”

Samjauta Express is the nation's first VIP train, in which tight security arrangements have been done. As the train enters the Indian Territory, BSF soldiers pilot the train and escorts it till Attari railway station safely.

Besides, the Custom Department, the RPF, GRP teams and Punjab Police also guards the train from zero line to Attari Railway Station.
