New Delhi: Terming Anna Hazare’s anti-graft stir as an “upper caste” endeavour, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader and Rajya Sabha member Ram Vilas Paswan raised his concern over Lokpal on Thursday and demanded adequate representation for SC/ST, the backward classes and minorities in the anti-corruption watchdog.

“People from SC, ST and OBC communities are afraid if similar movements will be launched to take away reservation and other benefits provided to them by the Constitution.” said Paswan.

The Minister added, “Every section of the society should be given representation in the Ombudsman, whether it is search committee or 11 members Lokpal.”

Paswan also called Anna Hazare-headed agitation an “attack on the supremacy of the Parliament and the Constitution”.

Terming property as the root cause of all types of corruption, the LJP leader sought to make a law slapping ban on amassing it.
However, Paswan appealed Gandhian Anna Hazare to end his fast.
