First pictures suggest that Mate 2 will take the visual experience of Huawei Ascend Mate to a superior level with its upgraded display. The latest from Huwaei is a direct rival to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, said the Huawei news. As per the speculations based on the leaked images, the device will witness a new 1.6GHz quad-core processor powered by a HiSilicon's latest Kirin910 chipset alongside 2GB of RAM.

Though, Android KitKat is the latest operating system from Google, Ascend Mate 2 is unlikely to reap benefits out of it. The buzz in the market is that the smartphone will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The device will reportedly own a 16 GB internal storage space. The company has not yet made any announcements about the official release date of Huawei Ascend Mate 2 but it is expected to arrive in the market by early 2014.
