Kolkata: Accusing the Congress-led UPA government and the main opposition party BJP of being hand-in-glove over the issue of price rise, Left Front Chairman Biman Bose on Thursday termed both the political parties as two sides of the same coin.

Citing the decision of both the parties to vote against the amendment motion brought by the Left Front in the Parliament over the issue of inflation, Bose said the decision has exposed anti-poor approach of both the parties.

The Left Front staged a walk out from the Parliament after the ruling parties and the NDA voted against the motion.

“When the country is reeling under the spiraling inflation, the demand of Left Parties to decrease the prices of the essential food commodities has gone unheard. The government could not answer satisfactorily about the steps being taken to tame inflation. While the country is feeling the pinch of inflation, they have done nothing else than giving assurances of doing their best to check price rise,” he said.

Bose clarified that even though both the political parties have stuck a deal, the Left Front wouldn’t deter from continuing its fighting against price rise.

“The party would soon announce the itinerary of its protest against inflation,” Bose added.
