Kolkata: The Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Front has lashed out at West Bengal government over contentious word ‘Santrash’ in the advertisements published by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) inviting applications for the post of junior police constables.

Senior CPI (M) leader Shyamal Chakraborty said, “The government is disregarding the very soul of the Constitution. It is serving interest of the ruling party.”

Echoing the same, CPI state secretary Manju Kumar Majumdar said the state government is provoking the youth against the Left Front in the name of extremism.

Revolutionary Socialist Party leader Manoj Bhattacharya and the Forward Bloc leader Hafiz Alam Sairani said the Trinamool Congress government has issued the advertisements just for reaping political gains.

Left Front leaders have sought explanations from the state government in this regard.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board Secretary, Mihir Bhattacharya, has clarified that the error occurred while translating the advertisement from English to Bengali.

The error would be corrected and published soon said WBPRB Secretary said.
