New Delhi: In a bid to apprise the Centre of the growing apathy faced by them in the state, the Left parties met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to complain about the political killings and the alleged attacks on their workers in the state.

Ousted from West Bengal after three decades, a delegation of the Left parties headed by Sitaram Yechury met the PM and submitted a 70-page booklet here on Thursday. The booklet contains a memorandum and a summary report stating the political violence in the state along with a detailed account of the collapsing law and order situation.

The Left parties, in the report, also mentioned about the killings of 31 leaders and party workers after the Trinamool Congress came to power seeking the Centre’s intervention in the matter.

The Prime Minister assured them that the Centre will take necessary action in this regard.
