"Efforts should be made to prevent commercialisation of the education as the quality of higher education ensures better future," Pandey said inaugurating a conference in Vrindavan organised by the regional unit of Sanvaidhanik Evam Sansadiya Adhyayan Sansthan, UP.

He stressed on the need for education of girls as they are not inferior to boys.

"Not only two families would benefit with the education of girls as they would provide better culture but ensure that next generation is better," he said.

The views of learned speakers of this seminar would be placed in the central body of the state for ensuring better education in future, he said.

"The importance of education in the present scenario would be propagated further. The new ideas emerging in the two day conference would be helpful in taking society and country in the new direction," he added.

While noted speaker Beena Duggal from Lucknow presented her views on traditional education and modern education, Dr Brajesh Chandra from Agra presented his views on impact of capital on education.

Former member of the Legislative Council Anurag Shukla from Agra raised concerns about the marketing of education.
