Earlier, the company had unveiled the Vibe K5 Plus along with the Vibe K5 at Mobile World Congress (MWC).  The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus launched earlier this year in India and was priced at Rs. 8,499 and it is expected that the Vibe K5 to be priced below that.

Following are the specifications of the device:

  • The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display
  • The Vibe K5 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 415 processor clocked at 1.4GHz
  • The smartphone is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage
  • The handset supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB)
  • It sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel fixed-focus camera
  • The handset is backed by a 2750mAh battery which is claimed to offer a standby time of up to 322 hours on 4G network, and a talk time of up to 15 hours on 3G network
  • It supports dual Micro-SIMs; measures 142x71x8.2mm, and weighs 150 grams
  • The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based smartphone will be available in Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold, and Graphite Grey
  •  Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and 4G
  • The Vibe K5 comes with LTE Cat 4 support which means it can match download speeds of up to 150Mbps and an upload speed of up to 50Mbps
  • It supports aluminium casing and comes with Dolby Atmos

The handset will come with the company's proprietary apps such as SHAREit for rapid transfer of photos, apps and other data; CLONEit to instantly transfer all old apps and data to a new Lenovo phone, and SYNCit for backing up & restoring all contacts, SMS messages and call log.
